About Paul Bunyan Resort

The Paul Bunyan Resort was originally part of a large greenhouse location operated by Mr. Soper on the north end of the town of Rice Lake.  Paul Fornier married Mr. Soper’s daughter and they added the resort. Paul Fornier was known as a teller of Tall Tales. Thus Paul Bunyan seemed like an appropriate name for the resort.

Today, the Paul Bunyan Resort has all of the modern conveniences people have come to expect in their vacation destination.  Each cabin comes with a fully equipped kitchen, including the ever important coffee maker and the beds come freshly made with comfy bedding.  We have a public area with coin operated laundry and restrooms for our guests, including our RV guests.  We have a modern fish cleaning house for all of the many fish you will be catching.  Each cabin comes with a dock and fishing boat.  A motor can be rented for a small fee.  We also have a pontoon boat that can be rented by the day or week.

Rice Lake features excellent fishing and several recreational activities, such as water skiing, kayaking and canoeing.  We have over a dozen golf courses within a thirty minute drive.  And don't forget the shopping!  We have a historic main street featuring antiques, specialty shops and gift shops.
